RADAR launches its latest Leadership Programme - 16th August 2010
RADAR (The Royal Association for Disability Rights) has just launched its latest series of Leadership Programmes. The four free events, for people living with ill health, injury or disability, are taking place at BVSC – The Centre for Voluntary Action in Birmingham on 14th September, 18th October, 24th November and 13th December. The events are designed to equip delegates with many of the key skills that are crucial to being a leader and influencer and includes sessions on: Understanding your inner strengths and making them work for you; Successful networking; Personal presentation; Building confidence and self-esteem; Interview techniques, CV Writing and job applications; Making the most of mentoring and One-to-one coaching on your personal priorities.
The programme is particularly interested in participation from people from black or minority ethnic backgrounds, people with learning difficulties, people with neuro-diversity conditions and people with mental health conditions, as these groups are particularly under-represented in leadership and influential positions. There are inspirational speakers, professional coaches, diversity employment consultants and plenty of tips and advice from other disabled people who have experience in leadership and influential positions. Jeremy Holt from Equal Approach will be holding workshops and coaching on CV and interview preparation and pre and post interview techniques. Jeremy was at last year’s event and is very much looking forward to being involved again this year.
If you are interested in participating in the programme and would like more details, please contact Carina Schmoldt: carina.schmoldt@radar.org.uk or 0207 566 0114.
