RADAR People of the Year Awards Launch 2010 - 24th June 2010

Tuesday 8th June saw the launch of the 2010 RADAR People of the Year Awards at the BT Tower in central London. Hosted by Cerrie Burnell, actor and children's TV presenter, the launch marks the opening of the nomination period and there are several new awards categories this year including sports, arts and media arenas.

This year’s theme is ‘Ahead of the Curve’ which RADAR CEO Liz Sayce explained ties in with RADAR’s commitment to working together with organisations and individuals to ‘spread disability expertise through effective engagement and representation in all forms of media, entertainment and sport, putting disability equality at their heart.’Liz Sayce CEO of RADAR

The awards, now in their 44th year, take place in London in late November and last year saw many interesting speakers including Frank Gardner OBE, BBC Security Correspondent Alistair Campbell and Dame Evelyn Glennie DBE. For further information, you can visit the
